Spring rabbit

rosskerrig Bunny

Nikon D7000, 70-300 vr lens

Last Year I posted this image Spring Rabbit, well they are back in the same field and looking as fruitful as ever. Although this little one looks like something almost had him for dinner. Notice the bite out of his ear….

Beautiful capture Nigel (with or without the ear nibble!). I’m hearing reports of lots of baby bunnies from both sets of grandparents (in Clare and Limerick). Can’t wait to go looking with our boys when we arrive home for a visit this weekend! Now if only it wasn’t a 16,000 km journey… : ))) Anne

    • That’s great news for you all Anne, I hope you all enjoy Clare and the Rabbits they are doing very well this year for some reason and its great to see them. Molly is going mad in the woods and I am having to call her back all the time. She goes on a big mission when she finds a trail, she’s only interested in the smell of them……

How you going to cope with out Monty to keep you all going?

Molly is free if your missing having a dog around!

Aw thanks Nigel. I’m sure there will be tears on Friday morning when we leave Monty with the house-sitter… ah, those will be mostly my tears, by the way!!

  7. What a sweet shot. He looks mildly concerned but otherwise pleased with himself. I love how he seems to be holding on to the dandelion.

    • Hi Sharon!!

The most amazing thing about these little ones is that they just freeze when you walk through the field they are in, they just stop and hope you don’t see them. I think that’s the look he has on his face as if ready to go for it if I got any closer…

They are perfect if you want to try some wildlife shots, move slowly and they do a lot of the work for you!

      • Hi! My favorite thing about this shot is his ears: the nibbled tip and pink veins. We get a lot of bunnies in our garden but none as soft and cuddly as this little fellow.

I didn’t fully notice his ear until I got the shot home, I wonder how many scraps he has been through since. I would put money on it he has survived all of them!!!
