Morning poetry : My fading dreams – an Island in the morning sea

Reality on an Island of dreams
Nigel Borrington

In those early moment as I awake

Visions of warm and gentle golden seas
a cool morning breeze.

Fading images of a island I do not know
Draining images of islands on which I want mind to stand.

An island that constantly haunts my dreams
particularly when reality falls apart at the seams.

An island in the spinning – turning sun.

An Island I long to understand
yet in the morning how far away its realty seems.

Can we only grasp life in our dreams
it slips through our fingers at the light of dawn.

you fade away and now are gone.

I walk along this beach
hot melted glass and cool flowing gasses meet.

Come tonight when I watch the setting of the sun
and wonder if on my Island of dreams, again a clear vision will come?

Gods our Sun and its Autonomy, a Poem.

Autonomy of the Sun
Landscape Photography : Nigel Borrington

Last Night I sat down and wrote my first Poem for a while, I was sorting through some Landscape Images and found a collection that I took earlier in the year.

These images are all taken Directly into the Sun, I love to play with the effects that the sun can create in a lens.

The subject of the sun in images I also find very inspiring, its our very life force and has fascinated mankind through out our long history, in both art and all the many religions we have followed.

Sometimes I feel that to use your eyes and clear your mind and just look at the landscape in front of you, on a clear day to just look up and the sun is freedom itself ! . In these moments there is no confusion of religion or even Science, Just yourself standing and looking at the world around you !!

black and white challenge 6

Gods our Sun and it’s Autonomy

As a single cloud floats by and winds coerce,
I desire alone the Sun to have such might and force.

When Gods Command the ageless trees,
a boundless cosmos is all I ask for to see.

Not simply the power of a signal God alone,
But infinite forgiving universal love,
contained forever within time and space.

A completely cosmic power,
open to all and with in the grasp of my simple mind,
open and without fear of a hidden world.

As the Stars stride through horizons and winds twist forests trees,
I only plead to be just as free.

About Landscape and meditation

The concept of Meditation is of a big interest to many people, some maybe religious some not.

To myself the process of clearing my mind while being out side in a wonderful Landscape location goes hand in hand.

This is a great article on Meditation : Is meditation about making your mind go blank

Last week on a visit to the Glengarriff Nature Reserve , county cork and on the waterfall walk , I came across a man just sat on a rock looking at the waterfall and rock pool.

This location is a very beautiful and peaceful place to be in and he was making the most of the atmosphere here. I feel it is very important to get outside into places like this and find a space for your mind to relax, these days more than ever we are having to think about so much almost all the time so it is very important to escape and find a space.

I feel that clearing your mind lets you find out what the true priorities in your life are, separating these out from all the other things that you can well do without.

Sunday evenings are my favourite time of the week, your mind should be empty at this stage, stripped down, cleared out and ready to go but not yet !

What is Meditation

Space to think

Wildmind.org: What happens as the mind starts to quiet down?

“And we find that interesting things start to happen. Because we’re no longer reinforcing unhelpful emotions, we feel happier. And we’re free to notice that happiness more because we’re less obsessed with our thinking. So we really notice how happy we are becoming.”
