… imagining after a long hard day’s work … a blazing turf fire roaring in the grate … Marvellous .

Strikes me a little sad to see the crumbling of a family home Nigel but as you say quite common I know in Ireland .

And of many ‘crumbled’ houses ownership seems hard to discover for generations ago many Irish fled to North America driven by hunger and poverty (plague)..

    • Hello πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Yes I think that’s very true, even though the land became free it is now owned my a new generation of framers.

Sometimes on Irish Farms the old house was just left , after a new one had been built they just moved to another field and a new home πŸ™‚

For your photography you must be very happy with an overload of competing ‘framers’ …. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

BTW did not know that the abandoned land became free but than it’s quite some yrs ago I was in Ireland…

    • Hello Vicky πŸ™‚

Yes it is , but most of the time the Farmers left for new work or the family reached a natural end with a single Farmer being the only one of the family left and with out children the land became free !!!

Thank you for your comment Vicky πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
