Shooting Square, Lake Windermere, Lake District, UK
One reason I love shooting Landscape images with square format prints and images in mind for the final results is that your images get closer to your subjects, you loose lots of details in the frame that you mostly do not need.
These images are taken at Lake Windermere in the Lake District and I feel that their square format helps in capturing this great place in a truly focused and closer way.

This photo was taken one Monday morning at a small bay on lake Windermere in the lake district national park, Windermere is some 18km long and at it widest some 2km wide. Its one of the most beautiful places I know and if you can spend sometime here at Windermere , you will find many wonderful locations just to sit and read and study the wildlife and nature it offers.
Even just to sit and look at these two boats moving slowly in the water is something I will always remember.
So then lake Windermere and two boats and one clear relaxed mind!

Monday Morning on Windermere
One September sometime ago, along with some friends we all hired a boat on Lake Windermere in The lake District.
I remember very well waking up on the first Monday morning, we had arrived late Saturday afternoon after a long drive up from north London. It had started to rain the moment we got out of the car and continued all of the day Sunday.
In a small boat you can hear every drop of rain but I remember waking on the Monday morning only to the sound of gulls and other birds.
I opened the door of the boat and this is the view I got, early morning mist still sitting on the surface of the lake but the sun was burning it’s way slowly through. The rest of the week was one of the best September weeks, weather wise – that you could have wished for.
Sailing On lake Windermere, well it’s is just one of the best holidays you can have.

The Lake district national park
I just want to spend sometime today away from Ireland, my fathers family are from the Windermere area in the lake district and until recent years we still had at least one relative living here. I have visited may times and enjoyed boating on the lakes here as much as possible.
So I just want to share some images I have taken during these trips, its a wonderful part of the UK and if you get a chance I would most definitely recommend you spend a week here.
