The old Mill at Goresbridge
When I was considering posting these images, I was wondering if I should show the setting of this old and wonderful red mill door. Its located on the site of on old mill sitting on the river Barrow as it runs through Goresbridge, county Kilkenny.
Sometimes just displaying something like a door just by itself can create a Mystery.
On this occasion, I will show the door in its location, I am however thinking of creating a series of images that do separate these kind of subject’s from their surroundings.

Beautiful images as always Nigel. I agree with you that a door without a context can create greater intrigue. The viewer starts to create their own story around it. I look forward to seeing what comes next! : ))

i absolutely loved the red door, its just kind stands alone in its own prideful way in the structure of the building having an identity of its own.. beautiful.

That door is fabulous not just in vibrancy but construction! I love that it slides to the side instead of opening on hinges. The covered windows are a bit mysterious, too. Wonderful images, Nigel!

I love old doors! A friend of mine has a door like that on what used to be a small barn attached to her house. Very cool!

Hello Rene π
That’s brilliant that you enjoyed, I love the hand crafted feel to these doors, its the same on old farms.
No one sold doors like this they had to be made on site….
