A foggy Morning Poem , 12 O’clock In the Morning

12 O’clock In the Morning

Late nights are when my thoughts linger
I think too deep and begin to ponder
Why life has no purpose but to bring joy or pain
We have so much to lose but much more to gain
Many people give up too fast
Instead of living in the present, they focused on the past
These thoughts strike in the middle of the night
And they make me wonder with all of my might

I haven’t lost that much
The only thing I fear is to lose all trust
Half of that is already gone
It got swept away with old love songs
My thoughts are getting foggy an hard to see
The midnight hour is the key

Irish Landscape Images, Black and White Friday

Irish Landscape Images Black and White Friday Nigel Borrington

Black and White Friday

It hard to believe how fast a week can go – Its Friday already 🙂 🙂

The Last Friday of January 2015 and I was trying to think what Images could best show the month we have just had here in Ireland. I love black and white Images at this time of year I feel they capture the winter months very well. This month we have had many seasons all in one go, sometime warmer than expected other times we have been very cold with Snow on the hills.

Last night I selected these four images as I feel they show everything from Freezing mists in the mountains to snow on the hill tops and a cold sea mist hanging just off the county Waterford coastline.

As its Friday I will wish everyone a great weekend, I hope you manage to get out into the open air and well! just relax and have a great time ! 🙂

Finding the Silver light of other days , Gallery and a Poem by : Thomas Moore

Finding memories in the light of the old farm 3
Memories of silver light, Glencommon, County Kilkenny
Landscape photography : Nigel Borrington

On the top of the hill at Glencommon, county Kilkenny is the Ghostly remains of an old farm.

Last Sunday morning I took a walk up the hill in the mist with my camera and took these images, it was a very haunting experience but one I really enjoyed.

The poem below by Thomas Moore came to mind as the mist of the day seamed to recreate the past of this wonderful old place, how many memories it must hold yet all of them lost in the mists of time.

The Light of Other Days

By Thomas Moore
1779-1852

Often, in the stilly night,
Ere slumber’s chain has bound me,
Fond Memory brings the light
Of other days around me:
The smiles, the tears
Of boyhood’s years,
The words of love then spoken;
The eyes that shone,
Now dimm’d and gone,
The cheerful hearts now broken!
Thus, in the stilly night,
Ere slumber’s chain has bound me,
Sad Memory brings the light
Of other days around me.

When I remember all
The friends, so link’d together,
I’ve seen around me fall
Like leaves in wintry weather,
I feel like one
Who treads alone
Some banquet-hall deserted,
Whose lights are fled,
Whose garlands dead,
And all but he departed!
Thus, in the stilly night,
Ere slumber’s chain has bound me.
Sad Memory brings the light
Of other days around me.

Misty Morning

In the misty morning
before the sun begins to rise
the world seems at peace with itself
right before our eyes.
No raised voices
to spoil our waking day,
just a sheltered silence
and the world seems
a million miles away.
In the misty morning
before the sun begins to rise.

David Harris

That Misty Monday feeling, you know you have to get going but that track looks really misty on a Monday morning!

So a poem then !
