Eva Cassidy – Who Knows Where The Time Goes ?

Can you believe it ? it is already the end of January and the afternoons here are already feeling longer, its about 6pm before its dark on a good day.

Goodbye January ! Hello February ……

Eva Cassidy – Who Knows Where The Time Goes ?

Across the evening sky,all the birds are leaving
Oh but then you know, it was time for them to go
By the winter fire, I will still be dreaming
I do not count the time
for who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?
Sad,deserted shore
your fickle friends are leaving
oh, but then you know it was time for them to go
But I will still be here

I have no thought of leaving
I do not count the time
for who knows where the time goes?
I know I’m not alone
while my love is near me
I know that its so until its time to go
All the storms in Winter and the birds in Spring again
I do not count the time
For who knows where the time goes?
who knows where the time goes?
who knows where the time goes?

The end of springtime – Fallen flower – a garden poem

Fallen Garden flowers Nigel Borrington

In the Garden at eight am
I witness the end of Springtime
flowers of green, blue and purple
falling all over the table top

I place my cup of tea down
a moment frozen, soon moves on
as more of these blooms fall all around me
soon it will be summer time

clearly the flowers know, against all hope !
time moves on
never stopping
never frozen
never pausing for anyone ……

Like the waves , Poem by Cyrille Octaviano

Like the waves

Like the waves

Cyrille Octaviano

clashing against one another
Struggling to keep up,
but aware of the power

Rising up,
streaming drown
rushing and hurdling
coming ashore

As the sun radiates
illuminating the water,
I can see crystal clear
there is hope.

Monday Poetry , Time along a rivers ……

I walk along a River of Time,
do I move or is it the waters?
Can I match its pace?

It flows by, driving my very thoughts,
without any meaning, in my reality,
for that I need to jump in !

Time is like the rivers flow 3

What day is this, what hour?
this flow has no meaning,
is it without power?
A cause without effect?

For me the water flows by eternally
but
It’s end is out at sea.

I Stand aware of my place in the Universe,
forever alive, outside of good or bad,
changing form so many times,
did I not come from this water?
I cannot remember!

Time is like the rivers flow 2

Neutral I stand, judging not,
Just watching this River.

It flows by,
with my fingers pushed in,
Momentarily touching me,
It’s power drives me on!

This river is all about the giver …
The Universe of power ….
The one without time…

A Monday Morning Poem

Its been a great weekend here in Ireland, Saturday was blue sky’s all day, while we had rain for all the day Sunday, oh well that’s Ireland – all seasons in one weekend.

While I was inside staying out of the rain, I did some tasks then reading followed with some writing, a couple of poems!

Of which this is one …..

Some think To Judge the very Sky itself

Some think to Judge the very sky itself,
from the rain it brings to the snow that falls,
from the shade and shape of each cloud that rushes by.

Judging its flowing expressions, as the very stars,
that rise at night and fall into the day.

Some think to judge the very sky itself,
as if this act will make them fly !

Yet the Sky looks back and never see’s,
the Stars shine down and never hear.

To Judge the sky, is as pointless a Human act as can be !!

Some think to judge the very sky itself,
but the Sky never hears their words.

They are like black grains of sand, lost along the ebb and the flow of Tide and Time !!!

To Judge the very Sky itself 1

Frozen in Time – a Kilkenny standing stone

I came across this standing stone while out walking through some fields at the top of one of county kilkenny’s many hills, the Moon was sitting right above it and I felt it was a very appropriate moment.

Ireland has so many of these stones and few are protected, many thousands must have been removed over time and the ones left only survive because the land owners care enough to keep them. It is thought that most date back some four to six thousand years so can you imagine just how many times the moon has passed over this standing stone marking the passage of each day.

Standing looking at this view however time felt frozen !!!!

Sunset over the mountain of Slievenamon , Star break and Poem.

Sunset over the moustain 1
Sunset over slievenamon, County Tipperary

Evening walks near the mountain of Slievenamon, county Tipperary can bring some great evening views, the sun sets right over the top on the mountain where there is a cairn, a burial place of a king dating back over six thousand year.

On one of these walks I was lucky enough to get these sunset images and I put some words to them in this poem:

Star break, a Poem

Behind the High cloud the sun is coiling and uncoiling
a dragon wrapped around itself spitting fire behind the mountain top

For a moment as I think of older days it is eclipsed entirely
aith a hidden God in the ground where six thousand years ago

A star fell from nowhere and lit up this very mountain’s top
turning westward by day, into oblivion leaving its mark.

Sunset over the moustain 2.

A king wise in these things called this a “star break”
and of no danger to the integrity of his vision

Star, soon the mountain will shrug you off you will drop below
the ragged edge line into tomorrow while I take the only path.

I came to find what I left, now ahead of me and waiting behind
a light of dawn, time of ages drifting through the night.

Me…..

The Sea Of Time.

by Robert Crawford

On that strange sea
Where Man’s bark moves as toward eternity,
What sails put forth that are not seen again!
So joyous it may be, or in pain,

The mariner doth drive still on and on
Beneath no mortal star,
And to no mortal port — as one
Who may but anchor somewhere so afar,

Time at the sea 1.

Not himself wrecks if he shall reach no more
In that tremendous sea another shore:
He is so like a wave himself at last,

He would toss through the future as the past —
But tethered as a whale is to a wave,
So he might still the one life have
Through all the changes that may be
On that tremendous sea!

Strolling down memory lane

By : taran burke

Strolling down memory lane
Where the colors begin to fade.
Strolling down memory lane
Is where I want you to come along.

Strolling down memory lane
is a test of time and mind.
Strolling down memory lane
I won’t be afraid.

Strolling down memory lane
Is lacking in color.
Strolling down memory lane
Is travelling in time.

Strolling down memory lane
Not a storm in sight
Strolling down memory lane
is joy without fright.

A memory that I have created in my mind,
Stands the test of time.
